Trussfloor
The Trussfloor system is exclusive to Perth Precast and uses a combination of precast steel reinforced concrete panels and poured in-situ topping to construct suspended concrete slabs that provide safety, rigidity and structural redundancy in a wide range of applications.
Trussfloor is suitable for low-rise residential and commercial developments, high-rise steel and concrete framed structures and a range of civil applications including bridge decks and culverts.
As well as manufacturing and delivering Trussfloor, Perth Precast can provide a complete service by also undertaking on-site installation.
Trussfloor features
Large sizes – Trussfloor factory made precast slabs can be manufactured in widths up to 2.5 metres. Lengths are variable, and can exceed 12 metres.
Embedded reinforcement – bottom steel and fabric reinforcement are embedded in the panel as required by the design.
Reduced weight – factory-added polystyrene void formers can reduce the weight of panels, typically by 30%.
Strength for ease of handling and construction – the Trussfloor trusses provide strength and stiffness for handling and transport. They allow panels to support construction weights with minimum propping, contribute to bottom and top steel and can serve as continuous bar chairs for top reinforcement.
Design flexibility – Trussfloor has no standard panel sizes. Length, width, plan geometry and steel reinforcement can all be varied to suit design requirements. Penetrations, cantilevers and unusual panel shapes can be easily achieved.
Cost benefits of Trussfloor
Faster construction – up to 150 m2 per hour of Trussfloor can be placed by crane – significantly reducing building time.
Eliminates formwork – traditional formwork is totally eliminated.
Reduced propping – with no traditional formwork, propping requirements are considerably reduced.
Fewer trades, more convenient – fewer trades mean a less cluttered and safer building site. Trussfloor also provides an immediate work platform.
Soffit finish – a class 2 off-form grey finish is suitable for painting with minimum preparation.
