OH&S accreditation and policies

Our people are fundamental to our business, and our first and overriding commitment is to their health and safety.
Perth Precast has made a considerable investment in developing an active safety culture that encourages our people to achieve continuous improvement in the way we think and act about safety.
It continually reinforces that employees who take positive action in identifying and reporting potential hazards are highly respected.
Our Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plan is independently certified in accordance with AS/NZS 4801:2001.
In line with this, have developed and implemented policies for Occupational Health, Safety and the Environment, Drugs and Alcohol, Injury Management, Industrial Relations and the Environment.
Our active safety culture is built around continual scrutiny and continuous improvement:- Daily Safety Inspections: Our Production Manager and Production Foreman conduct a daily OHS&E inspection of our premises. The results are recorded daily and registered on a controlled document so action items can be closed out.

- Weekly Toolbox Meetings: Weekly open-forum discussions encourage all employees to raise potential safety issues – accidents and incidents – existing hazards – new and upcoming hazards – employee suggestions to improve health, safety or the environment.
- Fortnightly OHS&E Audit: A Director conducts these, and all required actions are undertaken and closed out by responsible personnel and management fortnightly.
- Hazard/Incident Reporting and Close Out: A Hazard/Incident Register is maintained, and all staff are encouraged to report and new or potential hazards as soon as they become apparent. Everyone is encouraged to participate, and the file is examined, discussed and actions taken, with close outs, as required.
- Ongoing Education: Signage throughout the Perth Precast premises continually reminds staff of our commitment to a safety culture and reinforces to them our respect for their active participation in ensuring that we work safely above all else.
The quality of Perth Precast’s safety culture and systems is illustrated by our steady progress towards a goal of Zero Harm.
